Vestas, a global leader in wind energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mokpo National Maritime University (MNU) Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation to foster talent and build a robust offshore wind ecosystem in South Korea.
The partnership is designed to support Korea’s energy transition by cultivating a globally competitive workforce. By combining Vestas’ world-class technological expertise with MMU’s strong educational infrastructure, the two organisations aim to promote the sustainable growth of the domestic offshore wind industry, train specialists in operation and maintenance (O&M), and contribute to local economic development.
Under the agreement, MMU will focus on educating skilled personnel tailored to the evolving needs of the offshore wind sector. In support, Vestas will provide industry insights and advisory services to enhance MMU’s O&M training programs. The company will also facilitate phased access to relevant digital educational resources and technical information.
